Adoptions

All adopters will receive a medical history and be made aware of any behaviour problems and any known history from before the dog came to us.

• Person must be at least 20 years old to adopt a dog.
• Each dog goes to their new home after being vet checked, vaccinated and microchipped.
• Any dog over the age of 5 months has also been spayed / neutered.
• All dogs over the age of 6 months have also been heartworm tested.

There is a required adoption fee for each dog adopted out through Paws-United. All dogs have received initial vaccines. *Please note that dogs under 4 months of age have not received their rabies vaccination and no dog has received bordetella vaccine, or leptospirosis vaccine.

Adoption fees are as follows, but may be subject to change depending on the individual dog. Fees may also be changed without notice. These fees are based on a normal adoption, but are not guaranteed to be so for the dog you are adopting. This is the base at which each adoption fee starts at. As we are a not for profit organization, these fees go toward all vet care put into the dog.

• Adult dogs over 5 months of age: $600.00
• Puppies under 5 months of age: $600.00 with a $200 rebate when proof of spay / neuter has been done.
• Seniors (age 10 or older): To be determined on case by case basis.

It is highly recommended that all family members meet the new pet before adopting to be sure there are no allergies and to make sure everyone gets along. If you already have a dog, please have your pet with you for the meet and greet.

You will hear from us within one week of us receiving your application if you are selected for a phone interview and to set up a time for a meet and greet. If you do not hear from us after one week of filling out the application then you were not chosen as this pets forever home. Paws-United reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone.
