| Description: | Onion 11 month old Chihuahua/Pug/JRT mix Onion is a typical small breed dog - loving, affectionate, lap sitting, spicy dude. He is fostering with 9 big dogs and right from the beginning he has been right in the middle of it all. He is not intimidated by big dogs and will happily tell them off for any number of reasons - being too close to his favourite person, if they come near his food.... you know, the usual. Onion loves to sit on his person's lap or curl up anywhere that is where she is. He is super cuddly and can be handled (picked up, patted, hugged, kissed). He definitely has a voice and will use it to alert to someone coming into the house or into the room for that matter. When he's outside and the biggies are playing, he will bark non stop at their fun. This is apparently how he plays, hanging around the fray barking. No apartments or shared walls for this guy. He is fine with the man in the house who can pick him up and carry him. Onion loves children. He's great with the cats unless he wants them to vacate the bed in front of the fire in which case he will dart at them and bark. He is crate trained and sleeps all through the night without a peep. He would prefer to sleep with his person. He seems to have a small appetite and will take one kibble from his bowl and eat it over there. Then come back, get another kibble and eat it over there, etc. Like most small northerns, he is not a pocket dog. He is a full on, four feet on the ground, let's-go-adventure dog. He is brave, loves nature, and knows his own mind. He is no pushover. The world does not scare him. He's forward moving and curious. Onion would do best in a home that loves the small dog personality and is active and interesting. He is great in the car and good company going anywhere. He will bark at things he sees in the car so someone who does not understand the chatter of a small dog is not a good fit. If there is another dog in the home, Onion is most likely going to tell that dog what to do so the home dog should be amenable to that. Onion has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated with simperica Trio. |
